For your consideration is a 1914 Rochester, New York porcelain motorcycle license plate. The state of New York did not begin issuing motorcycle license plates until 1916. Rochester issued their own porcelain license plates in 1914 and 1915. 2285 displays nicely! 2285 features touched up enamel chips below the top left slot clipping into the “M” and “O”, surrounding the center bolt hole clipping into the “O”, “R”, “C”, “2”, “8”, and below the top right slot clipping into the “L” and “E”.
